If you find yourself in Los Angeles, particularly near the bustling LAX airport, make a stop at Truxton's American Bistro, where the fusion of comfort food and a chic dining atmosphere creates a memorable experience. This American restaurant, located at 8611 Truxton Ave, has quickly gained a reputation for serving up delicious, satisfying dishes that cater to a variety of palates.

The moment you step into Truxton's, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a laid-back brunch or a lively dinner with friends and family. The decor strikes a balance between modern and rustic, creating an accessible yet sophisticated vibe. With a commitment to excellent service, diners often rave about the welcoming staff who enhance the overall experience.

The menu at Truxton's is a culinary delight, featuring a range of small plates, healthful options, and tantalizing flatbreads. Begin your meal with the Avocado Toast, a delightful combination of fresh Hass avocado atop grilled sourdough, complemented by radishes, microgreens, sea salt, and a drizzle of rich olive oil. For something with a bit more zing, don’t miss the Ancho Honey Glazed Shrimp, boasting crispy shrimp tossed in a sweet yet spicy glaze, served with a zesty wonton pepita slaw that truly elevates the dish.

If you're in the mood for a heartier meal, the Candied Jalapeño Chicken Burger Plate is a must-try. Juicy ground chicken topped with provolone, applewood smoked bacon, and candied jalapeños sits gracefully on a bed of arugula, making each bite a delightful explosion of flavors. And for a less conventional twist, the Bison Burger offers a unique blend of rich flavors that meat lovers will adore.

To round off your meal, consider savoring one of the exquisite flatbreads, like the Wild Mushroom, laden with caramelized onions, a medley of mushrooms, and feta cheese, all harmoniously melting together under a crisp crust.

Many customers highlight the personal touch at Truxton's, with one diner recalling their experience of enjoying a custom strawberry lemonade to complement their lunch. This attention to individual preferences is a testament to their commitment to making every visit special. However, not all feedback is glowing; some diners have noted issues with certain dishes, like the Buffalo Cauliflower, which could benefit from more texture. Nevertheless, the overall enthusiasm for the dishes and the friendly service shines through, making it easy to overlook minor missteps.

Whether you’re visiting Los Angeles for a short stay or just passing through before a flight, Truxton's American Bistro promises a hearty meal and a taste of local flavor that you won’t soon forget. Book a table or simply walk in, and see why this restaurant is quickly becoming a favorite among both locals and travelers alike. Remember, your next culinary adventure awaits!

I had a delicious lunch at Truxton's including monkey bread with garlic butter, honey glazed shrimp with a zesty slaw & sweet potato fries. Every bite was delectable. While not on the menu, per my request they made strawberry lemonade for me. It was also very good. I'm looking forward to a return visit.

A friend suggested the place for dinner before my flight and I was so happy I splurged. Yes, the meager four slices of brisket are pricey and they were a tad fatty but the sauce and wet sauce really made it worthwhile. Probably the best saucy meat dish I’ve ever had. Make it six slices and you’ll have an excellent value to taste. The smashed potatoes were great too.

I found this place via Google; the menu intrigued me, so I intended to go in the early afternoon but ended up going for breakfast. I started with a French Lavender ’75 cocktail; a mix of gin, lemon juice, lavender syrup, and sparkling wine ($15.50). A refreshing starter though perhaps a Bloody Mary would have been more appropriate as this cocktail should have been paired with a more delicate dish. I ordered the Chicken and Applewood Bacon Waffle ($23.95) as I love fried chicken and waffles. The chicken tenders were tasty as was the bacon. The waffle was okay but not crispy enough for me. I feel waffles served with chicken should be cooked extra crispy as the heat from the chicken softens the waffle on which they’re placed. Other than that, it was a fine rendition of a favorite of mine. The menu is vast, and they offer desserts that I love, including mixed berry cobbler and an apple tart. Both were off limits as I’m on a quest to lose the weight I gained on 39 days of cruising, so I ended my meal with a cup of coffee ($3.75). Service from Marcos was fine. There is plenty of parking in an adjacent lot and I didn’t have to wait too long to get a table. I’ll be back!

Great staff and a solid atmosphere —no complaints there. But I came for the food, lol. Buffalo Cauliflower: Tossed in a “Frank’s-style” hot sauce and topped with bleu cheese crumbles. For me, it was a miss. The cauliflower needed some crunch (an air-fry would’ve done wonders) and way less sauce. If "disrespectful" came on a skewer, this might be it... Firecracker Chicken Skewer: Hard no. Just 2–3 thick, long pieces of bland chicken on a metal stick. It sounded good, but it missed the MLBERG stamp. Would’ve been much better in seasoned panko or marinated/grilled for flavor, while incorporating it's original elements. As-is, it just didn’t land.

Had dinner at Truxton's American Bistro before heading to the airport. It's a 10 minute drive from the restaurant to LAX departures. The restaurant was busy when we arrived, but they seated us in about 10 minutes. The menu was extensive, and the food was delicious. Service was prompt and efficient. I had the grilled cheese sandwich with caramelized onions. It was amazing. There's a free parking lot next door, and Truxton's is wheelchair accessible. If you're up for a meal, and you're near the airport, Truxton's is the place to go.

I decided on this restaurant based on the review i read online, and I was not disappointed. There is a parking lot beside the place. Otherwise, street parking is allowed. We had about 3 minutes of wait time before we were seated. The menu had selections from salads, burgers, sandwiches, lunch specials, breakfast options with varieties of desserts, and a bar. We had the chicken skewers for the appetizer, and it was a 10/10. It was fresh, hot juicy on the inside, with a sweet sauce on top. I went for the honey chicken sandwich, and I loved how fresh, juicy, and tasty it was. Ivan was our server, and he did a great job. Every staff member made every customer feel important that I loved. The restaurant is about 10 minutes away from LAX, and it is worth visiting. I will be back there anytime I visit Los Angeles.

There are times in life when people surprise you. I think the same is true of places. Truxton’s in Los Angeles was one such place, and indeed a wonderful dining experience to conclude our LA trip(being conveniently located close to LAX airport). There was a 5-10 minute wait when we arrived(an early Friday evening). The wait only increased as the evening progressed, indicating that the place was indeed popular. Benedict, our server, was kind and hospitable through and through. He ensured all our requests were met. For food, we got: Chili Basil Salmon: A magical salmon dish with salmon marinated in sambal, ginger and lemongrass-it blew us away! We could really taste the ginger coming through subtly. The salmon itself was smooth as butter. The green beans on the side were another healthy accompaniment. 10/10 indeed! Wild Mushroom Linguine: A tasty pasta dish suitable for vegetarians—the linguine was well-done and went well with the roasted garlic cream sauce. We were hooked to it with the first bite. 10/10 again Turkey Lasagna: A delicious concoction of turkey, ricotta and romano cheese, tomatoes and garlic cream sauce—we finished the dish pretty fast, . The fine balance of flavors hit our palate and made us yearn for the next bite. 10/10 Monkey Bread: A bread lover’s delight—we didn’t feel ashamed as our primordial instincts took over pulling apart the house-made bread with cheddar cheese and garlic! It was so good we ordered another, and shared it. The IPAs(local) and ciders were great too. We didn’t have desserts(something to look forward to on our next visit). To sum up our experience, while we were waiting, I started chitchatting with an older woman, who said it was one of those places that just “gets” it, and makes you keep returning. It wasn’t fine dining, but not all experiences have to be. We loved Truxton’s overall and highly recommend it! There’s a free, large parking lot right next to Truxton’s, and chances are high you might find parking easily there. Be prepared for a wait if you visit during peak hours. Seating inside is in a large hall.

My Wife and I had a great experience at this restaurant. The waiter Art was outstanding . His recommendations were spot on. The food was delicious and drinks were made perfect. Will be coming back and recommending to everyone we come in contact with. Thanks again.
